Now, nobody actually knows me on here, but if you did, you'd know that I hardly speak unless you twist my arm. However, there are certain things (a lot of certain things) that set me off. Now normally I wouldn't talk about them, but as this is my journal, I feel that I am entitled to rant and rave 'till I explode.
If you don't like people who bitch, please, I urge you, turn away now and maintain that I simply made an entire journal entry about kittens.
A little while ago, a thread recently revived on the forums reminded me of something I heard back in high school. At least, I'm fairly certain I was still in school. Anyway, there was some stupid motivational video... or flyer, or speaker, or some shit, and part of the information that it was to relay, had to do with virginity and peer pressure, what have you. Now, I don't remember the exact statement, or figures, but I'm certain of the ballpark, and it was something along the lines of, "80% of high school graduates have never had sexual intercourse." Hold for long dramatic pause... What the fuck!? What the fuck century was that poll taken in? Did they take that shit from some Catholic school in the 1800's? I'd want to check this institution's credentials really. What, do they think that some school in Amish country is somehow a good sample to represent the rest of the US? Now I wasn't exactly Einstein, but I wasn't young and stupid anymore either. I knew propaganda when I heard it for fuck's sake. The sole purpose of that entire thing was to make my ass feel better about being the only virgin in that God damned building. Everyone I knew had had sex by ninth grade at least. Even the gimpy, pimply losers, that played Magic The Gathering at lunch, with their ranch-soaked food, and their chain wallets. I know, I'm a piss-poor complainer, but this is the level of subject-importance that I'm comfortable with, otherwise I just depress myself.
To summarize, high school is why I will live the rest of my life as a hermit, and why I'm home on a Saturday night. Alright, that isn't entirely true, but it's my premature outlook for the moment. You be the judge.
