Talked to my brother in Houston today for about 2 hours seems things are really moving on for him. Well it's almost midnight and here I'm wide...

I want to thank you for your nice words on my journal. I think that one can never fully understand death and the loss of the dear ones. Luckily, the memories never die.

We must try to stay strong.

It's almost 2am and I've been working all night, but it keeps the clients happy and I'm loving the two pieces that I worked on. Large work is quite rewarding that way, you work and work and it feels like you are just not getting anywhere and then it just starts to come together. The one piece is a traditional oriental dragon, while the other...

Battling away with my shop landlord, this guys changed his tune on me again, I feel like torching the place. This is frustrating, I've torn ligaments in my knee and I'm laid up so I can't even react. Seeing the Dalai Lama today his blessing a temple up the road from our place, thought I would hop along and check it out, maybe get some...

is that a Belair i see you driving in your picture? how long you been tattooing? I wanna start an apprenticeship in abouta year, any tips? blush
mrlucky:
Hi Jet, in the picture you're seeing a little of my 62 Chevy Impala, it's what's known as a pillarless coupe due to the fact when all the windows are down it has no pillars between the doors. This gives you a wild look with this expance of a window, it's really great. If you like that, I've just begun work on what is a for me the ultimate car, it's a 49 Ford club coupe and it's one of two left in SA. We have just cut 2 inches of the roof and we are about to split it the weld it back. I will upload some pics if you like. Im giving my age away when I say that I began tattooing in 89, I apprenticed in Bari, Italy under Howie. As for tips about an apprenticeship, I've not had a lot of contact with tattoist in the States except on convention so I'm not so sure about the scene. I have travelled through America staying in New York, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, and Orlando, always stopping for a tattoo and what I've found is that shops vary from freindly to just plain arrogant and unfreindly. So I would say find a studio you like, find an artist you like and get to know them, leave your attitude at home, this doesn't sumise you have one nothing gets up a tattooist nose more than a wise ass, feel them out and let them know you are interested. As to what to do in the meantime, draw develop your own style and commit it to paper, draw a lot as it will show your interest. If you were over here I would certainly take a good look at you, from looking at your profile, I'm interested in your headspace and taste so there is no reason why that will not be the case in the States. I hope that I have satisfied your curiosity and am really glad to meet you. smile

Kira, I'm enthusiastic and interesting while I'm unable to join Jack and yourself, I do think a mind fuck is in order
