Some stuff about me

So, my friend and fellow SG fan @fredhincanada set this nice challenge for people to share a bit more about themselves and maybe get some conversations going to compliment the drooling over goddesses that we all come here for.

So, today, I thought I'd attack the first 4 questions. Here goes! 💪🏼

1. Tell us about one of your favorite songs of all time.

This is a super tricky one for me, as music is a huge part of my life. I spent ten years in a band, and throughout my teens and early twenties, I suppose pretty much everything I did revolved around music. So, mabye in a few weeks, you might get a different answer, but for today, I'm gonna pick 'My Twin' by Katatonia. It's a short song, but wonderful and, the many times I've seen them play it live, it always wows me.

2. What is a piece of art that you have, or would love to have, hanging on your wall or sitting in your house?

I love to have art hanging in my house, and I'm lucky enough to have some cool bits and pieces kicking around. But, two years ago, when my wife and I were travelling around Cornwall in the UK with my best mate and his wife, we saw this gorgeous painting of the town of Portleven, which was painted by a local tourist. It's a typical place in the area, old houses, hunched by the sea wall, then the fishing harbour itself is these great stone walls, standing strong for when the insane winter swell smashes in. So, it might not be the highest fine art, but I love it being a place that I've been to and witnessed.

3. One of your comfort movies/series that you have seen more than 3 times.

So, I'm a horror writer, and a horror fan, but one of my favourite comfort movies will always be a slightly cheesy choice in the Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weisz (I have had a huge crush on her for years now!) version of The Mummy. I love Egypt, having been multiple times and that film has bits of horror, mystery, adventure and comedy. If I find it on TV while skimming (a rarity these days, with all the streaming services and apps) I'll usually settle down and watch it.

4. A video game that you have spent the most of hours playing.

The video game I've probably devoted the most time to, like so many others, is Final Fantasy VII. It was the first time I felt fully immersed in a game's world and, even now, a decade and a half after playing for the last time, I still sometimes think about the astonishing world building, characters, score, and loads of other stuff. It was a moment of true genius.

Keen to see other people's responses to these and other questions, so if you do post your own, do tag me! 😊

Those are great answers and I love "The Mummy."  It's perfect in it's cheesiness!
