Okay, past few days all I've been doing is blowing my money, this has resulted in a 20inch LCD monitor, also some nice DVD's and my current fav, Batman Begins, I am also back to reading Terry Pratchett, I've been reading the books that feature the City Watch as I enjoy those books the best, mainly because you get a good few books featuring the...

Yeah, I love that album for meloncholy... it's both beautiful and sad, but can also be like a hug giving frail and fragile comfort
I've cashed in my free copy of Half Life 2, U could have done this when it was released, but I waited as I couldn't really be bothered with it, I've had my voucher for two years and I finally moved my slow ass, I got it free because I bought a very nice graphics card two years ago, it's still great to this day,...

Well, hope you get better soon, alot of it can be effected by willpower, so take the stuff (I can't sugest anything without knowing exact symptoms, but even then, doubt I'm allowed, as although I'm registered with the pharmacutical society I'm not in the same physical area and also don't know a drug/health history and other meds you may or may not be on. (which sounds extreme, and to the most part is) then the fun is me going through my Brittish National Formulary and checking everything is okay and maybe even the Stockley which is a book pure about drug interactions.
Docs have it easier, they have the ability to fob you off with crap and send you for blood tests aswell as a computer system that has your medical records in them (that way it will alert them when something is not suitable, and even then, well, thats why you take your prescription to a pharmacy where the pharmacist checks it out and takes a brief review of important factors. All a hell of alot of work...
And I bet you really wanted to know all that.... o_0

i am just beginning to rediscover my love for Placebo.
They were one of my first "favourite" bands.
They were one of the first bands I saw live.
But I grew out of them, as you do with some music.
I listened to Without you I'm Nothing again the other day. I started to remember why I loved them so much in the first place.
I like it when that happens.

yeah, I've seen them live twice now, I must say I like the newer stuff best, and although that album is great there is no songs there that stand out and grab you, which is why I prefer Black Market to that album (Taste In Men, Black Eyed, Peeping Tom and Slave To the Wage come to mind) and Sleeping with Ghosts which has fewer tracks that I'm likely to skip but is also great live.
What an amazing strike out this is against the fat-cat venues and taxes that cost bands money and means the fans get ripped off because some greedy bugger wants a big slice of the cake in merchandice sales, well they can't get big money from $1 a T-Shirt, I aplaud this as often it used to be the only way a band could make any...

I've just finished reading the Da Vinci Code. I thought it was okay. The ideas were strong - but I think his writing style hasn't quite been perfected yet... for one thing it was too long. I have no problem with long books, but this could have been shorter and wasn't.
As for Harry Potter... I read the first two books, and then got bored half way through the third. I plan on going back to them at some point though.
I'm four chapters into Black Hawk Down now. I really like the style and the way it's written. I'm only reading it because it is on my reading list. But it's pretty good. Not something I would have picked out of choice, but sometimes that's the best way to find a book.
Have you read anything by Tom Robbins or John King? Human Punk and the Football Factory by the latter are amazing.
And as for Jessica Rabbit.. I dunno, she's kinda hot

Well, I'll be honest here, Harry Potter is okay as you get to the third, Prisoner of Askaban gets better as it goes on, it's an important book for what comes later, the end of the book is where things start to move, after that you hit The Goblet Of Fire which is the best book in the series so far finishing in a way that changes the books forever. Order Of The Pheonix is slower, it's important for the final book however as there is much information in there that becomes relivant later on. The Half Blood Prince however is better than Order Of The Pheonix but not quite as good as Goblet Of Fire, things start to fall in place to allow for everything to conclude in the final book, the problem is the final book has alot to live upto as there is a high expectation on it, but Half Blood Prince see's Harry become less whiny and he gets some balls at long last.
Not read any of those books you mentioned or anything by those authors.
And yes, for a fictional animated charactor, she is... The only question is, what the hell does that Roger Rabbit have that no one else has, and does it work on other women?

Some of the saddest songs are also the most beautiful, the most poignient and profound when you can just feel the emotion and it hits the soul. It's strange how that is, some upbeat songs can lift you, fill you with energy, make you smile or throw your arms up, Revol is one, but there are songs that just move you, no matter how you...

sad songs can sometimes make me feel really happy. if they have good memories attatched to them. it's weird, i can find a really sad song uplifting, sometimes.
My dissertation I have decided is going to be on the broad topic of "why do states encounter terrorism?" and then concentrate more closely on why Chechnya chose terrorism. I have plenty of ideas, too many really, i have to pull together all of the work that i have done over the last two years together for my final piece.
Allergic (...) is my favourite Placebo song. I really like the mood it creates. Being that is by no means my favourite Placebo album, I find that song to be the best though.
Face has improved a lot! no visible bruising showed up, which is gooood.

I'm cool, just watched the very stunning film Downfall.
There are many takes on that subject, but remember one important thing, and this could be key. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. There is one exception and that is the Islamic Extremists, they claim to be terrorists but in reality they are fanatics fighting for a 'holy' cause but not fighting for freedom, only for blood.
Most other times it's been the people of a country fighting against it's rulers who are injust and corupt. It's always been a country, or a people fighting to gain their freedom. From the last century you have countless examples, but it stretches way back through the ages, the French Revolution, the Pesant Revolt in England, but just the small segment of this last century shows many examples.
The Bolsheviks took over in the October Revolution in 1917. In WWII you had the French Underground and other terrorist attacks against the Germans. Something thats had alot of press reasently is the IRA. You have the Cuban Revolution, Chechnya, the Palistines trying to take their country back from Israil and countless other examples, all of which was for the freedom of their country from either outside rule or a government that did not exist for the people.
It is easy to look at Terrorists as evil, and in modern days we are taught that they are, but apart from fanatics and extremists that do not fight for a country, the divide between Terrorists, freedom fighters and heroes is almost none existant, other than the perspective and also who wins.
Glad to hear your face has improved, you have a nice smile and would be a shame to have it blighted by the affects of an injury.

Work was a bit more enjoyable, I got shunted arround departments, in a way it shows that I know what I am doing and in a way its a back handed compliment that I can end up in areas I don't like because they need me as I'm good at what I do. Ah, I know that one, my tollerance rose pretty high pretty fast, it kinda had to, my first night of drinking pure vodka left me with no further memory of the night, but I was told I was totally paraletic, couldn't stand or do anything, and then spent the night with my head down the toilet throwing up, then when I was finally thrown into my bed the college lecturers that had taken us on the trip to Paris didn't think I'd make it through the night... LOL
I reached the point where I could happily have about 20 odd shots in a night, and at Leeds festival first time I went I drank half a bottle of Tequila, a bottle of Pernod, some vodka, some shooters and a load of wine that my mate had then brought, I ended up sick by a barbwire fence and didn't notice I had shoved my arm through it, then passed out in my tent, but I freaked people out as I had passed out with my eyes still open.
Now, well, my limit is about 10shots and I only usually have about 3-5drinks when I go out.
It's strange how these things change, but in a way its useful, it means a night out is cheaper
