The Book of Eli.
It seems this movie is causing a little bit of controversy. I can kinda see why,but I don't see why.
Yes, this movie has a religious story line to it, but it isn't propaganda or forcing anything upon you, as I've read on other sites. No-one ever said the matrix was forcing religious propaganda upon you, but because that all the SFX it was ok. But because the whole movie is based upon faith in god and belief in bible it's not cool all of a sudden.
I'm neither religious nor atheist, I believe what I want and have faith in mysellf, family and friends. I guess this makes it easier for me to be more open minded about the world we live in and what is shown to us in all forms of media.
The movie is based around a man name Eli who has a "book" the last of it's kind. Some want it for it's powers, to be used in a bad way but eli will never let it get into the hands of evil. This is what the movie is basically about, good vs evil(well that's how I see it). The evil wanted to show people how bad the book is and show it's all fake(just like many atheist people in today's age)
In the end no matter what, good will always prevail over evil.
One major thing that many people don't realise is, is that it's the fanaticals who cause the problems for the true believers/non believers. The normal every day people who do/don't believe go about their business and accept each others views. It's the ignorant/naive people who want to destroy everything and show people how bad each of the opposite ways are.
I recommend this movie to anyone who is open minded and is willing to accept the ways of others and see why people believe in the faith that they believe in and just accept the movie for what it is. I
Nothing to do with propaganda, just a good movie with some nice fight scene, good storyline which has a religious tone to it.
Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman did a superb job with what they were given. They have both honed their craft to the finest of details.
