So,

Today I have come to learn lots. A lot more than I thought I would.

First, that people are kinder than you think. Well, okay, that was last night and this morning...but Voltaire confirmed it too. She is very friendly, and kind. (thanks)

Second, I forgot my cap lock was on yesterday when I posted...because I leave it on for ebay...much easier for me when I am selling hundreds of auctions at once.

on to other crap.....hmmm....Don't know what to say today...so you get a poem....blah, not my best but oh well still works

Masquerade

She pulls back the wings of her hair
The feathers of the raven tied back
She puts on her mascara, darkens the eyes
Reddens her strawberry lips, with a fire red
Cheeks flushed with colour from the wine
She adorns the faade needed

They are announced at the party
People unknown, behind the masks
The beauty of it all, hidden away
Then they take the floor
Mingling to, fro and inbetween
I see her, as she pulls up to me

We start to converse about life.
sipping on expensive champagne,
This elegant woman,
Who walked up to me.
She whispers to me, "Do you dance?"
"Yes, it would be wondrous to dance with you."

It was the murmur
The tone of her voice
It was the way she breathed
And the sway of the hips
That made me realize
Who she was

Its the final bell toll
The people are leaving
So I lean over speaking softly,
I expressly let her know
That she made the night
I say, my dear, I knew it was you,
Veiled behind the visor

I pick up my coat,
Making my way to foyer
She comes to say something
Nothing.
I tell her, we shall tango again
And I make my way to the door.

and another just because

Scarlet slumbers

Does it matter?
In the end how I feel.
You want to know the pain
I made my deal with Lucifer
Sword laid upon earth
I only hurt myself
Sliced ribbons flow freely
tis not a chaff that does this
swallows of air flow in
Crimson not accurate enough
Come on, feel the hurt
Let me steal a moment of you
To exchange the acedia
Swapping out the liberties
If I could only take it all
Back to Gaia in her guise
If I be an angel fallen,
My wings would be gone
Let the brackish smoulder on
Sulpher water is so clear
To cleanse oneself
The truth lies beneath
What is torn apart
Can you see it
What a prominence to run
Tis not a jaunt
But a leap of charity
Tell me, we both matter
You lose, all that truly is
Is what is not seen yet
If a deal could be made
Youd see it too.
I live the greyness of it all
Let the air hit the aorta
Flowing in, seep elsewhere
If I only could let it flow
Little rivers make a mere
Empathy cannot say all
I am a dancer, on the floor
Ballroom waltzs bring hebetude
Our hands touch one last time
Torn asunder, severally
Tis the phantoms journey
The night shall end

Yes, I am in SG hopefuls, I don't really check it out much though.

What I'd like to know is what was the special something Missy thought a given set had that decided her on accepting it? I see some girls' first sets that, to me, are a bit lacking. I don't always see that "special something". Naturally a first set isn't going to be the girl's best, but sometimes I'm surprised it got accepted. But obviously Missy saw something in it that swayed her.

What's frustrating is I'd like to be part of helping some of the girls grow as models and be supportive of their careers on SG, but from what Nixon and Roethke said about criticism being unwelcome, I guess our input in that regard is frowned upon. Like I said, it seems it's Missy's place to critique sets, not ours.

Oh well, we may be paying customers but that doesn't give us the right to take a girl down a notch if we think she's lacking. We're paying to see real live people doing someting that I have to say is very brave. We may be able to give criticism if we're paying for food in a restaurant, but giving criticism to another person who has feelings and is taking a bit of a risk that they may feel pretty sensitive about is a different matter altogether.
