as if things couldn't get better:
my car broke down in the middle of traffic on the way to work this morning. the engine usually cuts out on cold mornings, but i've always been able to restart it easily enough. i've been having issues with my starter the past month, though, and i think that's what the big problem was. sadly, i haven't gotten the chance to check it out yet because of my work schedule. so it got towed to the nearest AAA-certified shop, which is in a town half an hour away. after waiting around for an hour for the shop employees and owner to show up late, i finally got a ride into work, where i had to wait at the gate while somebody came out to pick me up and drive me in (the site is strictly military only). so my boss shows up and makes me go fucking grocery shopping with him. we pick up 25 12-packs of soda for some fundraiser, and i have to fucking carry them. taking trips, it's no big deal. i can lift a shit-ton if i need to, but carrying is another story with the leg. then i get to work...
work sucks, by the way. i'm 3 hours late, and master chief's pissed. i've been missing too much work lately because of sick days and physical therapy. argh.
physical therapy sucked. i did 3 stretches (which fucking HURT) and iced my thigh. this somehow took 2 hours - most of the time i sat by while the doc ignored me completely. we still haven't discussed what's going on or what i'm actually capable of doing at work. and when it's done i get to go sit outside in my fucking shorts and t-shirt while i wait for my ride to show up (LATE!) and then i get to go back to work.
oh, and apparently the shop closes at 5 and they not only forgot to mention this, but they also neglected to contact me on the progress of repairs, so i have to bum a ride home. oh, and the shop has my keys, which includes my apartment key. luckily, when i get home, there's still somebody in the housing office to let me into my apartment.
did i mention that i was unable to make any progress at work today? so now i sink further into delinquency. if i don't get put on medical hold tomorrow, i'll have to come in and work extra hours all weekend. there's a qualification quiz tomorrow that i'm dreadfully unprepared for (based mostly on briefings that i've missed due to absences and tardiness).
i really want to talk to somebody, and chaps is only in his office for maybe 3 hours on 1 day out of the entire week.
i just took a percocet and i'm pooped. long, miserable day. i'm going to watch a zombie movie and try to pass out.

Tropical weather is good old fashioned therapy.
Date was kinda of a bust. It rained here. And the next lunar eclipse isn't until Dec 2010.
Hopefully I can think up something else to do before then.
