a treatise on supreme lethargy: the weekend in review:

i didn't do shit.

i've repeated my weekly schedule ad nauseam, but i feel that it's pertinent to explain it again in this case. basically, i wake up early (around 5 am), go to classes on mathematics and machinery until 4 in the afternoon, eat dinner or exercise for a couple of hours, and then go back at 6 in the evening for private study that usually lasts until 10, then i get back to my room and dick around until i go to bed at 11 or 12. not a lot of time during the day for free time, so you can understand how much i cherish my downtime.

speaking of downtime, this weekend was a total waste of it. both nights found me sleeping ungodly hours, waking up in the afternoon and missing brunch (leaving me to feast of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, oh the humanity!). i did my laundry yesterday, at least, and went in for almost a couple of hours of extra study, but that took up only so much time. the rest was spent doing god-knows-what; time passes by very quickly when you have nothing important to do. seriously, all i can remember doing yesterday was playing a little final fantasy 3 on my ds, reading a few chapters of stranger in a strange land, and being pretty bored out of my head, but simultaneously content with not doing anything. no, i didn't play any world of warcraft. the last time that i attempted to i honestly got a little bored. is there something wrong with me?

anyways, today, i woke up at 12+ again, kicking myself because brunch closes at 1130. so what the fuck am i going to do today? iron my clothes? go to the movies (and see hot fuzz)? my roommate sits perched in his corner, eyes locked on to his little 13" television, playing final fantasy 12, and taking the occasional break to go outside and smoke a pack of cigarettes. it's like looking at a mirror and realizing that i need to get my ass into gear lest i end up like that.

things that i could go do right now:

• go see hot fuzz
• earn my rifle marksman ribbon ($75 to rent a lane and an M16 down at the local range)
• go buy a sandwich from the subway on base
• do more laundry

well, now that i think about it, i don't have that many options. i have to go back to studying some time today, maybe i'll get that out of the way early. meh, i'll think about it.

anyways, picked up children of men (great movie) and the new nine inch nails album, year zero (which is good so far, but will still take a few more plays to fully digest).

blah blah blah, time to go get shaved, showered, fed, and hopefully, in the time that will take me to do all of that, i'll figure out what the fuck i'm doing today.
