I refuse to give money to corporate like charaties.
Before you start saying things like "you thoughtless bastard" let me explain.
I am in the shithouse at work because I won't give anheuser-busch money for Katrina relief. I dont work directly for Busch so it's not like they can do anything to me. The distributor I work for just wants to impress them with a large sum sent to help.
Was I allowed to explain why? No. Did they want to hear? No. The joke is on them. While AB takes their money and uses whatever percent they need to for allocating the donations, I chose a different way.
After I heard about Katrina, (Idont watch TV) I started thing of some way I could give to help. Corporate charaties such of the Red Cross use some of the money to operate. I also want to know that the things I give were used. I devised a plan.
I remembered that my ex had family living in NO so I gave her a call. It seems they all piled into 3 vans and headed for the hills so to speak. I got an address from her and a phone number. After rooting around in the basement attic and garage, I sent them the following:
5 large Uhaul boxes of clothes
1 27' color TV
3 box fans
1 am/fm cd player.
my xbox (they have kids) and all the games
$3000.00
So let them be mad. I don't give a shit anyway.
