Crucial Conflict

Heart:
I have so many unfilled needs
Sometimes I feel my spirit bleed
I have a void that itches and I
Will do whatever is necessary to satisfy.

Mind:
There is a way that's right or wrong
You are an adult you must act grown
You know you can't have things your way
What would the Higher Power say?

Heart:
He would tell me to have patience
But doing without just doesn't make sense
When today I can achieve
And this void I can relieve.

Mind:
You've come to far to turn back now
You need to live up to your vow
You made a promise to your God
Was that all just a facade.

Heart:
But my needs are so very intense
And it has been a very long time since
My God paid me any attention
I have a void - did I not mention?

Mind:
You know that God is never late
I think on Him you need to wait
He can fill all voids and then some
Along with love He has great wisdom.

Heart:
I guess one more day won't really matter
My own will has caused me disaster
Waiting is the hardest part of life
But I know I will survive.

Mind:
You have made the right decision
This way you prevent a bad division
Between yourself and the Almighty Spirit
I know that He will be glad to hear it.
