For my ancestors and my descendants:

We live in a world today
Of disarray
Dysfunctional families
War torn urban societies
Unemployment and welfare
Skyrocketing Healthcare
Racial profiling and Affirmative action
Situations in this world are still dissatisfaction
We have the means to succeed
So why do our people have to beg and plead?
Child abuse
Drug misuse
Burglary theft and homicide
Corporate scandals hate crimes and suicides
What this world needs is understanding and love
And we need to get back to the teachings of God up above
We need to be more active in our childrens lives
Try to be better husbands and wives
See 400 years we shed tears but our worst fears
Are those who still fight to refuse us our civil rights
Martin Luther King Jr. dream
Still seems so far away it seems
A universal society
One that lives in harmony
Freedom and equality
Strength and diversity
Love
Love of family and friends
Love let the hatred of the world come to an end
Love like there is no tomorrow
Love will erase the pain and sorrow
We have the gift of expression
Like a literary confession
Of what we see wrong in this reality
And voice what will improve this society
So let our words and thoughts fall like rain
Saturate and liquidate our peoples brains
Lets inject
Some positive intellect
Lets try to help the less fortunate ones
MLK and Malcolms work is still not done
Here in the 21st century
Freedom and equality
For one for all
Will we as a nation heed Martins call?
We need unity
Instill Gods beauty
Embrace humanity
This is how it has to be
We all make up this great country
And we must strive By Any Means Necessary
As you can see
We are a positive poetic family
One that looks to the positive insight
One that sheds some poetic light
