So if all goes well I should be able to get a flight home for new years to see my family for the first time in almost a year.
SO dig this I had the money to buy a ticket home at the beginning of the month, but my leave forms were not done yet. The weeks rolled by and then after a month of nothing I got mad and went to talk to the NCOIC of my unit (That is the enlisted person in charge) She said oh we had it on hold because we had you schedueld as duty driver on one of the days you wanted to take leave. Problem is I never got a a USERA DL so I cannot legally drive here. So I reminded her of that which she already knew and insisted that they hurry up with my stuff. Took her 5 mins to sign 2 things then had it to me.
So she said I was done there so I go up to the company to turn in my forms and the NCO behind the desk starts looking at the forms. They are not complete she says. So I have to make the 1.5 mile walk back to work again (see I live by the company so it was 1.5 to get to work then again to get to the company then again then to work then back to my room) so just that walk not even walking to where I am working now not where I work normally I did 9 miles in walking just for that and then I had to wait for the company commander to sign it. I still have not gotten them back and I checked the prices for my flight home and the prices have gone from 375+200 in taxes to 912+200 in taxes. THat is for the cheapest flights still availible.
So I am not sure what to do if I get the paper work next week I should be able to get my tickets and they will prob cost like 1200-1500. THat is if I can find any.
