Well, the actual birthday is winding down, but the weekend has just begun.

Today was spent having lunch with my mom, then driving north to the slightly out of the way fresh butcher in south Lynnwood. There, I bought a couple brats for my lunch, two new kinds of bbq sauce to try out, and an 8 pound standing rib roast that they had to cut for me.

I'm marinating the rib roast for Saturday night. Four friends will be over and we'll be LAN gaming from Friday night on.

Night is spent with a little writing, a little PS2, and watching Blackhawk Down... I've been listening to the soundtrack for the last few days and hadn't seen the movie in a while.

Isn't it odd how we think something more special should happen on our birthdays. As if the fact that I have a family, friends, good job, two cats, roof over my head, and a fully functional body and mind, isn't special enough each day. I'm a cute girl away from a perfect life. But, if I get the girl, will I want something else past that?

I'm a little selfish on my birthday, but I think we all should be. Tomorrow night I'll have dinner with another group of friends and all the attention will be on me. But all I'll care about is that they were kind enough to come.

Welcome back smile

I have different groups, but everyone would get along on some level if I brought them together. But, I have a smaller number of friends and I don't hang around people that are overtly dramatic ,,, so even if they didn't like each other, I wouldn't ever know.

Actually I think you're right, about the self fostering thing... *I* was/am the one that keeps them apart, because I have two tiers of intimacy with friends.
