Happy New Year!

A sober vacation it was not, but isn't that the point of the holidays? It never fails to amuse me to see certain members of my family getting smashed with Mssrs. Remy and Hennessey over the course of a long dinner(I've even added a new picture of me poor self the day after Christmas).
Do you know that final scene from For a Few Dollars More, when Clint Eastwood is piling up his wagon with dead guys so as to collect his bounty? Well, substitute the Mexicans for Chinese and you get the point. Sickos even wanted to go out to the mall the next morning to shop! I remained behind to read and take the dogs out for a nice long walk. Discounts be damned.

PDX was it old loveable self, but each time I go back the city grows larger and larger and the people seem less and less friendly which is disconcerting. Where did all the wanna be hipsters come from? They certainly didn't exist when I was younger. Anyways, it was good to see the neighbors and their kids(growing up so fast that I can barely recognize them anymore; suddenly, the little girls have boobies and the boys have deeper voices and whiskers on their chins).

The last year has not been without its bumps and bruises. I moved out to SF from NYC(very difficult); broke up with my long time steady(immensely difficult); started a new job(very sucky) and got in a few fender benders(prior to comming here, I hadn't driven a car in nearly 10 years-expensive crash course you could say). However, I have made some very good friends out here(including those of you here at SG); I frequently see most of my family(which is why I came back to the left coast), and I love SF.

A year on and I am only starting to feel "settled in" out here.

A few resolutions for 2005:

1. Be kinder-there is too much cruelty in this world
2. Be more honest(unless you are terribly ugly and are fishing for compliments, I will always be truthful).
3. Be a better friend
4. Read more often
5. Write more often
6. Drive more slowly and try to completely stop at intersections.

I'll catch up with all of your journals entries soon!

I am a private dancer, except generally there isn't any money involved.

Your list is much cooler than mine, and certainly far more achievable. I hate to think how many resolutions I've broken within the first week of the year. Probably most of them.

I think we're all looking forward to a better year this year. I do hope that you get yours my friend.
