Warning: grossness ahead.

I don't get sick often, but when I do, it's to the point of death. Today in the shower, I coughed up a handful of phlegm. A literal handful. I sat there looking at this mass of jelly overflowing my palm for at least a minute because my disease-fogged brain couldn't figure out what the fuck to do with it. Eventually I took the cover off the drain, so none of it would stick on anything, and dumped it. Then I washed my hand a few times.

What the fuck, body? Why you gotta be like that?

That was nice of you to issue the warning there. That was rather gross. tongue

It's been a bad year for people getting sick. I've been legitimately stay-at-home-for-more-than-a-day sick at least twice this winter season. Usually I'll get some head cold and load up on DayQuil and be fine, but not so much this year.

There's this guy at work who's been diligently coming into work every single day for about a month now, proceeding to spend the entirety of each and every one of those days coughing and hacking really, really badly, like he's trying to dislodge a lung tumor, whilst also being entirely candid about the fact that he apparently sees no need to visit a doctor about it and has not done so, and I am two coughs away from flipping out and hiring someone to kidnap him or something just to get him the hell out of my office and my breathing air, because I'm not at all interested in catching a third bout of sickness.

But because, unlike Consumption Dude at work, you are on the internet and therefore cannot infect me with the plague or whatever, I can be genuinely sympathetic to you and tell you that I hope you're feeling better without any trace of resentment over the infection risk you might pose to me. Hooray! wink So, I hope you're feeling better!

It's pretty sad. But it's not surprising. It's easier to kill someone you never try to understand.
