watashi wa is great pop.. like early 90's non-grunge rock pop.. still some 80's influence but keepin it modern. anyways, I mowed the lawn and its so sunny, and I smell ike grass. I worked up a sweat trimming the edges. doesn't that sound rad. it does to me. I enjoy yard work. I am gonna go take a shower and then fix some lunch, and then haul my scooter up to college to start my spring quarter at central wa U.

holy moly. . .this is quite a responce. uh, i think motor is trying to say that there are other bands out there that are just as talented or even more so that don't get the promotion they deserve because record companies spend all there money on pushing just a handful of bands down every teenagers throat in the world. i have no real problem with LP but i don't think they deserve the promotion they get just for writting music that sounds ,in my opinion, the same as anything they have written before. i don't know how much of an opinion i have just because i have only heard the "hits" and they all sound the same to me. i think there are lots of other bands out there that are progressive and are actually doing something with music that is more than just special effects. i think LP could do something really great with music. they obviously have the talent but i think they are too worried about making that "hit record" that is going to sell a 10 million copies in the first week it is out.

i guess what it all boils down to for me is i wish music companies and producers would stop having such an influence on what a band is doing. if a musician in the industry has gotten so far as to land a major record deal then he/she obviously loves what they are doing and they aren't intentionally going to put out something that sucks cause they care too much about it.

boiling down even further i just have to say that the music industry isn't really the music industry. conor oberst of bright eyes said once, " the music industry is a pretty terrible place, it should be kept small and with your friends where it's safe." or something like that.

jesus this is long.
