So, my surgery recovery has not gone as nearly as easily as I expected. I have felt pretty cruddy all week.
First it hurt worse than I expected. Then my head has been hurting and my stomach has been upset. I have been a very miserable me.
Aside from the misery of the healing process I am still super happy with my decision to have it done. I just hope that my body hurries up and recovers fully. I also hope that my body does not go crazy without birth control since I am really hoping that is one pill I will no longer need to take.
Okay, aside my body being a pain in the ass this week, work has also been intense to say the least. Busy is an understatementit has been beyond crazy. Plus my boss is back and so she is trying to get caught up on everything so that means more meetings and time away from actually getting the work done.
I did win the 4th quarter PRIDE award at work which used to come with a cash prize before the bankruptcy
I always seem to have crap luck when it comes to such thingslike the time I won employee of the month they had just gotten rid of the cash prize. It is painfully obvious that I am not meant to ever make any easy money. At least, its something that I can put on my resume for the day that I finally decide to leave the newspaper and go some place where I will be paid what I am worth.
At least, I did get this nifty gold star paperweight with my name on it and a ton of people congratulating me that I have never spoken to beforeso I guess thats a good thing.
Lastly, I had one of the strangest experiences ever this morning on my drive into work. I was in my car on Orange Ave. at the red light next to the Sheraton. An older guy wearing a suit in the car next to me got my attention and rolled down his window. I assumed that he needed directions or something since that happens often. I rolled down my window and he proceeds to say, Hey, I know you do not want to go to work today and I do not either. I just laughed and waited for his question. Then he says, How about we both call in and you come and spend the day playing with me? I laughed uncomfortably and said no thanks and rolled up my window and for the first time ever I was super glad that my work building and parking lot are access controlled. Yeah, so I have been wondering since this incident if this guy does that often and if it has ever actually worked for himso weird

I had some dude get my attention while waiting for the light and try to sell me steaks. Your's still wins for weirdness and uncomfortableness.
