One of the fosters was spayed yesterday. She was so sad and hoarse from meowing when we picked her up, but the surgery went fine. She came through with only a clean little couple of stitches and no e-collar. Today she is completely back to normal. The oddly exciting part is that they are going to show me how to remove the stitches next weekend. I am really learning a lot with this batch of fosters.
Yeah, yesterday was pretty much a crap day. I was super worried about my foster baby being at the vet. I got to work and followed up on a call I had been asked to as I am the primary contact for this project. When the chick answered she immediately started yelling at me and accusing me of not knowing what I was doing and of throwing her under the bus and so on. The strange thing is this was the first time that I actually spoke to the girl...I was just put on as the point person. Everyone involved is stressed and over extended, so I think I just happened to be the one that caught her friggin breakdown. Heck, I was put as lead because everyone else is super heated over the whole thing and I'm the calm and collected one. I had to debrief my department manager on the whole thing as I obviously didn't the answer that I needed. Then I got a headache as usual due to the rain in the afternoon. I went home and it only got worse.
Josh was great at least and since he had stayed home he had one of my favorite dinners waiting for me

I'm pretty pleased that she didn't try to remove them herself!
