My boyfriend's family is made up of complete douches. This is not something that I didn't already know, but it was made quite very obvious again today.
Let me start by pointing out that Josh is in significant pain right now due to a minor, yet very painful, below the belt injury. Stress makes the pain even worse and what happened today was definitely the last thing that he needed right now.
We had been invited to his niece's birthday party by one of the sisters that supposedly was on our side of the whole stupid family rift. JW called her last night to let her know that he was hurt, but that we were still going to try really hard to make the party anyway. When he got up this morning he called her to let her know that we were definitely going to attend. He explained that he was still in a great deal of pain, but that he really wanted to see the kids. He asked what to get his niece for a birthday present and we took showers and went shopping. We got her gifts and wrapped them and headed over to the party when he called to ask if we should eat lunch before we got there. His sister said that they were only having snacks and cake and suggested that we get something to eat first. At this point we are almost to his sister's house, about 45+ minutes away from our house, and we get a call. It's his sister telling him that I can't come. She said that his mom was having an emotional day and wouldn't be up to seeing me.WTF
We were almost at her house at this point, and he wasn't going to leave me in the car. He has even made it quite clear to everyone in his family that he will not attend anything that I am specifically not invited to. We dropped the present off and had to immediately turn around and leave. We spent $40.00 on gifts and tolls just to go and now we had to just turn around and go home.what total bullshit.
His family needs help. They need to know how bad they have hurt him. Unfortunately, nobody will ever stand up to his bully of a mother. Jesus, his fucking child molester brother gets to go to the kids' parties, but we don't. Too bad his mom just won't die and his siblings just won't grow backbones.

I'm totally sorry. It's a bitch that the others let his mother bully everyone in that way. Maybe it's wrong, but I doubt I would have had the stomach to drop off the gift at that point.
