We went to CarMax today and found a car for the boy...we should be able to actually go and get it tomorrow night. He hasn't had a car in forever..we live 5 minutes walking distance from his job so he hasn't needed one. He recently got a great promotion, but it requires that he have a car...he'll be doing alot of on-site tech support for clients.
During this whole process I've decided to really start minimalizing my life. I currently drive a 2004 Audi...the ex-husband convinced me to get for appearance in the corporate world that I'm a part of. I'm going to sell it and get a car that I'll be able to pay off in less than a year. Being without a $400.00 a month car payment will be wonderful. Next, when our lease is up we are going to be moving out of the downtown, high-rise, upscale apartment and find something much more affordable.
I hope that eventually I won't have to work so hard at high stress jobs and still be able to support myself. I'll be able to get a job that I like, or at least that I don't hate. I'll be happier which should also result in me being healthier.
I'm excited about the decisions that I 've made recently.

I have frequently said . . just because you can afford something, . . . doesn't necessarily mean you need to or should. It makes so much more sense not to stretch and put yourself under financial burden. I downsized my house . . . and drive a modest but paid for, vehicle.
Stress will eat you up! Eliminating unnecessary sources, is the kindest thing you can do for yourself.
Chasing the dream is one thing . . . but can't the dream be happiness and contentment, as opposed to a warehouse full of possessions?
