has anyone out there ever heard of poetry.com? well, when i was a bit younger i entered one of their contests. i didn't win, but i got published. it seams that they request about two poems a year from me anymore and they all get published without questions. for the past couple of years i have been included in theire best poets of the year compilations. i get a letter requesting a new unpublished poem for them to print. i just got another request this week, so i pulled this out of my ass:
in desperate times do not despair
just look left and i'll be there
never right cuz right is wrong
the frightfull night is not so long
the frost can not bring you harm
just so long as you remain on my arm
the furnace burning in my chest
will assure us both some peacefull rest
so lay your head and shut your eyes
now drift away, let your spirit rise
i'll meet you when your path is clear
together forever, me and my dear

sappy, is it not? i've never actually won any of thier cash prizes, but poets never make any money untill they are dead. kind of like painters. speaking of money, i'm about to go interview for a job with the sherriffs department. i had no idea it would be with the sheriffs dep. i just thought it was a data entery job. well, wish me luck.
