I love the first week of school - something about the new notebooks, textbooks, syllabi, etc. makes me feel wildly optimistic. I entertain full-blown fantasies of getting all of my homework done well ahead of schedule, organizing all of my paperwork, and generally getting my shit together (even extending into delusions of cleaning my house). Basically, none of this is EVER EVER going to happen - but it makes me feel good nonetheless.
After careful consideration, I've decided that this was my favorite thing at Burning Man. I went back three times, but never mustered up the courage to fight - no matter how inebriated I was. And, in case you were wondering, I was plenty inebriated. Check out more Thunderdome pics and stuff at the DeathGuild site.

actually, that's really cool that your friend worked on the movie. the visual effects *are* pretty cool. and i would still say the movie is worth seeing - don't invest THAT MUCH in my vain ramblings. after all, *tons* of critics love this movie and i'm just a crabby grad student.
Yeah they had thunderdome when I went too. Awsome experience. Great Links...brings back fantastic memories...
