Cory and Liana ordered dessert even though they were both full, just so we could stay a while longer in the Thai restaraunt, until the hail had stopped.

Cory's window was open, but his graduation gown lying on the passenger seat was still in the plastic bag so he didn't feel like going out to close the window. neither did Liana, as she was riding home with me.

I got up to sit on the empty side of the table which faced the window so I could watch the hail scatter across the parking lot. The trendy Asian boys at the next table paid and left and I was glad that our pancakes were taking so damned long. It was the last time I'd see my friends till July. I couldn't even see Kroger on the other side of the street.

After I brought Liana home, I started to miss Bruce a lot. This is the best time of my life and I wish he could be here to see it instead of only hearing stories. The steam rising of the hot wet road almost came up to the hood of my car and in the traffic lights it looked like green haunted-house fog. I thought he'd like to see that. It was muggy as hell outside but I still felt jealous when I saw two boys on mopeds waiting at a stop light. I'd really like to be riding right now through that fog.

The sun had just gone down by the time I got into my parking lot and the lighting lit up the clouds everyfew seconds on the east side of the sky, so I stood on the pavement for a while smelling the laundry room and watching the bolts chase each other from one cloud to the next. Someone was using chlorine bleach. I really wished Bruce could be with me then so see and smell that. I could smell the old wet oil on each parking space.

Inside my apartment it was stuffy and hot. I opened the windows, turned on the radio, and danced a while in my living room.
