So I'm sitting here watching Across the Universe, and I'm about an hour and a half into it, and I found myself going onto IMDB to find out how long it is. I don't want to force myself to finish it, but at the same time I WANTED to watch this movie so badly and I am very disappointed in the fact that I'm not liking it at all. What's bugging me even more is that I can't figure out why I'm not liking it. I"m loving the references and the cinematography is gorgeous; plus I love the Beatles.
I'm not sure if I'm just not in the mind set to watch the a movie of this particular caliber right now, or if it's the fact that it's a powerful piece of cinema and I'm watching it alone and I feel that this something that should be shared with someone else....or I'm just not connecting with the characters and in general the movie is just a disappointment. I'm thinking that it's a mix of the first two. I hate watching heavy sitting movies by my lonesome.
On the plus, this chick that they got to play "Janis" is absolutely fabulous. Janis has been my girl crush since high school, and this actress has channeled her voice from the grave.

my friend Charlie Jane and I went out on Saturday night to go crash a party, we where going to crash it. Well we start drinking Evan Williams Whiskey, with really nothing in our stomaches, and we ended up falling down a hill and landing on a sidewalk.
