So yesterday was my first full fledge physio appointment. The first part of it was lots of fun. It's like being back in kindergarten and having two hours of play time with really fun toys. There are these giant colorful balls I get to try to push around and a wobble board I have to stand on and try to re-learn how to have balance. Apparently I damaged all the main nerve endings in my leg and it no longer has any sense of depth or distance or whatever. It basically means that when I try to walk, I fall over half the time, lol. Then there are all these crazy fun exercises that remind me a lot of floor-bar in ballet.

The downside of physio is the machines they hook you up to. One of them is a machine with 4 suction cups that are stuck on my knee wet...and then they send electrical currents through them. I have to sit there for 14 minutes with this thing on my leg that feels like a giant wet squid is giving me hickeys. Ughh. Then I had to have an ultra-sound done on my knee that apparently sends a message to my muscles that tells them to heal. That one is not so bad except for the really cold gel they use. Don't ask me how any of these things actually work. I have no clue. My physio therapist tells me to do them, so I do, and I don't ask questions, lol.

The great thing out of all this, is that I walked like three steps! I was able to take my brace off and just use my crutch for support...and walk three steps with my knee bending a little and everything. It feels really weird after over 4 weeks in the brace. My knee feels like jelly and I hardly have any control over it.

Of course now everything hurts and I never want to move again. My leg has not been in this much pain since the first day I injured it, and I have to go back to physio today! Eeek! I wish they could heal you without having to hurt you, lol. eeek
