Since being back from my trip (which went fairly well except for the entire family getting sick the first day out, and by the end having bronchitis and needing a hospital) I have been insanely busy. I guess it is the mixture of a new job and all the holiday festivities.

We celebrated our Dutch christmas on the 5ht and 6th which involves putting out your shoes and the next morning having them filled with treats and your chocolate initial by Sinterklaas and Piets (Santa Clause and Peter).

Usually our night is very traditional, but this time we decided to to something a little different. We went out for a show...the Miss Ottawa Continental, I believe it was called, which is a beauty pageant for all types of female impersonaters. It was great. They raised a lot of money for the community (and while the bathing suit competition was a little scary ) the talent portion of the show was amazing!

Last night we had our annual cookie party. We invite 11 people over, and we all bake 12 dozen cookies. Then we eat to much food, and drink too much booze, and at the end exchange the cookies. That way to go home with 12 dozen different kind of cookies and your baking is done for the season. Its kind of 1940's housewife, but we have always done it, and its fun.
