Black electrical tape can be used for numerous things. Artist Joel Alvarez has been creating outfits for fashion and clubs entirely out of black tape for years. Aptly named... The Black Tape Project. The designs range from being simple to super detailed showcasing the curves of the body. After following the project for a while, I've decided that I want to try this out but add my own cosplay nerd pop culture twist to the designs. A black tape Quorra? Sith Lord? Batgirl? Sounds awesome to me.
The catch is since I haven't tried this before, I want to experiment before bringing in a full crew. Hopefully a volunteer to test out designs and figure out how to work with black tape. Then once we got one, could come back for a real shoot with the team. I think it would be fun and in the end, result in a great photo series. Heck, maybe even a cool SG set. Anyone in Cali interested?
