So I feel like I have done a very good deed today....
A couple of my neighbors friends got into a beef this last friday, one pushed the other through the front window....there was glass EVERYWHERE! The police showed up today knocking on my door asking if I knew what had happened....I explained that I was not home when it went down, but told them what I knew. So they took my land lady's number and knocked on the unit of the broken window. Told him he couldnt leave it like that and he needed to board it up and clean up the glass.....
I heard the sliding door across the way open after the police left and popped outside offering a bucket, broom, gloves and a hand if he needed it...he graciously asked for gloves since he didn't have any, and ran off to grab a bucket to clean up the glass....So I handed him the gloves and told him where I would be if he needed help....long story short I went inside, felt bad, so I found another set of gloves and a bucket and headed out to help him clean up, we removed the rest of the glass from the window, got as much of it out of the rocks infront of his unit as possible, and were headed to unload at the dumpster....he said he would give me a few bucks tomorrow when he got paid, and I thanked him but declined. I ran inside to grab a little blue card I had heard about...Got Tagged is a movement "facilitating goodwill through one act of random kindness at a time". He smiled, thanked me again and went inside.
It was a really good feeling doing something nice for someone else and not expecting anything back. I had swept the path where it happened already on Saturday morning...and probably will again tonight just to be sure. But yeah....I feel like I did something good
