Wow that weekend seemed like forever... Which is kinda ok... Just did alot of walking.

Friday went off without a hitch. We got to the convention center, bought our tickets wandered around and eventualy got into the dealer's room. Mucho fun. I got a plush facehugger and a Haro that flaps it's ears by solar power... It wasn't quite worth what I paid for it. But that's ok...
Oh and some matrix action figures from the origional release. They don't look that great but it was three for $10.
Also picked up THe Hobbit board game for me sissy's christmas presant. But it's missing pieces. They said it wasn't... Grrr... Gotta see if I can send away for some.

Right before we left, Cassie,Tash and Margeret arrived in hopes of getting their tickets before the next day. Cassie just about knocked the wind out of me slamming into me with her 50 so pounds of baggage.

We made our trip to me other sissy's place for the night. We all dorked out with her then the next day had a bit of a trek getting back to the subway. Bastard bus driver didn't call out the stop. Some woman on the bus said we passed it so we got out. But couldn't see it up the street so we walked way the hell down dufferin looking for it when it was infact a block from where we stopped. So we bussed back up to it.

The second day I decided to dress up as Duo Maxwell.. Which really isn't that hard a thing for me to do. I just have to braid my hair, put on me hat and a priest's shirt. The tight black pants help too.
At Anime North I couldn't turn around without someone wanting a picture or wanting to hug me or feel my braid or something.. Honestly. Someone asked for a picture, I posed, they took it, I took one step to turn around and came face to face with someone who wants a hug and a picture... Wow....

This time it wasn't quite so bad. But lots of people did want pictures. A: because I really am a guy, not one of the countless women with long hair who do this character... B: because my hair is real. Though it could be longer.
There weren't many great anime costumes at this one.. Countless boba fetts and jango fetts and storm troopers. Some were really good. A really awesome chewy. I don't know if he was on stilts or just really freaking tall. But he was freaking tall!
There was an awesome Dalek from Dr. Who.
Also ran into my new boss twice.

I didn't see anyone of great importance.. Margot Kidder was there. I didn't get an autograph... Celebrity doesn't mean much to me. I don't think I'd get much joy out of saying I was one of many shrieking fanatics who charged Elijah Wood when we was brave enough to show his face. I didn't see him. I think you had to pay a fuck of alot to.
I'm too busy getting myself noticed.
Though I have to say Jhonan Vasquez is a pretty cool looking guy.

Saturday night was Sarita's turn to fuck up the directions. We knew we had to get to Shaw Street for the place we were sleeping. the bus pulls up and we ask if he goes to shaw street.. He does, we ask if he can let us off there...
We go a ways and fear that he won't call it out like the last guy. We see a stop for Harbor or Harvord or something.. But it was one of the streets we remembered hearing from the directions but we weren't sure why... he says Shaw is just straight ahead a little ways so we walk.... And walk... I find a bus map says it's at the end of the street and to the left a bit... I couldn't tell from the map that it ran paralel with the street we walked down for 20+ minutes. We finaly get to it and start waking up... We see house #110 or something... We want #529... We walk, and walk and walk. Chels was wearing big platform buckle boots and was in agony. We walk and walk and we know.. Just know that it's going to be just below the intersection with Harvord or whatever that street was... And it was.

We got in. They were really nice. Imediatly offered us fruit and water, juice, beer. Had a nice little chat. The woman owns a nice clothing store where they sell stuff by the woman who designed the real world post apocalyptic style sweaters in The Matrix. I wanna go get one now!
Beautiful house, they set us up in the basement. Sarita and I shared the air matress... Yeah were cuddly and more so all weekend... I know.. I'm pathetic...

We got a drive back to the convention and a bit of a tour, showing us where the bus station was. I wanted to get there before noon to see Zombie Night in one of the 'Screaming rooms' for the horror part of the expo. I know one of the peopel filming the second one so I wanted to see what it was about... Oh man... I felt sorry for the people who made it sitting there in the room as it was shown. Peopel were laughing and MST3K-ing the lines and everything. The acting was not screen worthy. The horrible sound and film quality didn't help it but could have been ignored if they had some actual actors.
The scripts were bad, it was too oriented towards the survivors when nobody cared what happened to them... Wait.. Yes they did care.. They wanted to see them die... Except they sucked at pretiding to die too!!! The one guy has a zombie gnawing on his ankle when he tries to climb a latter and he was acting like he was trying to kick a dog away from humping his leg.. He sounded more disgusted than in terror/pain.
The dialogue was, I dare say, outdated.. IE: The little girl commenting on how the token black guy 'Talked Funny'. BTW he was best actor there and the only character I liked.
We couldn't sit through all of it.
I hope to god the second one is better. By the pictures I saw from production, it should be. I hope they have better sound and cameras. The idea for the second one sounds awesome. Mosquito borne zombie strain!

So yeah. Nothing special about friday. We got on the bus at 5:30 and came home.

I should have went to bed earlier. I was tired all day. Still am. But me boss had me working on sizing gold rings. It was mucho fun! She says she likes my work and no matter what, even if I can't get into the course. I have a job there which is YAY! She says she really likes my work.
She wants me in regularly on thursdays and fridays now.
She was going on and on about seeing Alijah wood in the parking garage and trying to snap a picture.
Someone from Elija'h entourage came towards her and took her camera, she was scared he was going to smash it. He walks up to Elijah, who strikes a pose. The guy snaps a picture and walks back to hand her the camera. She says she's gonna get an 8x10 and put it in the store... She was also excited about getting her picture taken with Kevin Sorbot.

I should clean for the party on the weekend. though it won't be that big.

Icky work tomorrow.
