Ok so second day at new job was fun.. There was plenty for me to do. I did the stupid stuff first, I hat to make some new links and reattach a clasp to some bracelets. but I didn't have any of the right gauge wire there! It was kinda hard. I think they look like crap. But I did my best with what I had.
After that I had to drill a hole deeper into a pearl so I could attach an earing pin to it.
Then I had to shine up a silver ring that I guess the old goldsmith had resized but didn't file all the working marks off of properly so I just filed it some more and had to polish it.
There was a gold ring she's adding two amathyst gems to, I had to file some little nooks into it for the settings.
I worked some more on the silver charm she had me working on and she also handed me a gold ring I needed to shine up.
I ws having trouble with it so I saved it for last. Still didn't get it nice enouh to put the final polish on but she said she'd show me a trick with that another time...
While I was there I noticed a CD case with a home printed movie cover for Howl's Moving Castle.. I thought it belonged to Holly, maybe she brought it to watch if it got really boring. I asked her about it she said no, Terry( My boss). Her daughter is really big into anime and she brought that in to give to a friend.
The friend came in, we had a little chat. Her son is really into all the Miyazaki stuff. Turns out Terry and her daughter are both going to CNE next weekend. Which is funny because I think she was hoping I could cover the store while they were gone.
Poor Holly, sounds like she's absolutly sick of hearign about anime. It was funny.
Terry dropped in at 4:00 to drop her daugter off for her shift there. I didn't stop to chat, I was too tired for small talk but oh joy. I know how fan girls react towards me. So I'm not too anxious to get onto the subject. Though I might try to hunt them down at the con.
So this training course is done at the shop through the school, which is why I can't be working there while I'm taking it. Which also means things are going to be moving alot faster than i had thought. It's probab;y a sort course. But I can give up as much time at loblaws as I have to. Workign at the shop is so much nicer. Nicer enviroment. Nicer work. I lose all track of time and my wellbeing while workign on jewelry. If somethign interupts me I realize how hungry I am or tired.. I was peppy all day but when I got off work I was grumpy as all hell.
Sarita and I are going to hang out today. I'm going to go down town in a bit, do some shopping at army surplus, mebby get some fabric for my crowbar resistant arm gauntlet aaaaand some stuff so I can mod me new coat....

Ok so something pulled me away from the computer before I managed to post it. But yeah that was my day. Got sushi rented Sin City. Took my knives into Army Surplus to get em sharpened. I can pick em up tomorrow.. Zar just left.. I swear, watching the predator movies gets her hot. She gets extra cuddly.
