Down but not out... I'll be back!

I'm feeling very lucky at the moment.

I haven't felt very well all year and finally went to see a doctor about it a couple of weeks ago. I thought that maybe I was just getting really unfit despite all the dancing and other exercise I do, but blood tests proved that I was very anaemic which was the real reason I felt tired and breathless all the time. Anyway, after lots more probing I was diagnosed with cancer of the colon last Tuesday. I had a CT scan on Thursday to look for secondaries, was 'discussed' in the MDT meeting on Friday, and saw my consultant for the results on Monday morning this week.

The great news is that they didn't find any secondaries, so once I've had the operation to remove the offending tumour my prognosis is good. Surgery is scheduled for the third week in November, so I don't have too long to wait for it.

I'm going to have to take things easy for a few months and won't be dancing for a while, but all things considered I'm feeling on top of the world right now.

I'm looking forward now to regaining full health, feeling 100% fit again, and getting back into shape in the not too distant future.

I haven't spent much time on the SG site recently, but I'll rectify that whilst recovering from the operation.

Love and hugs to you all! :-)

Really hope it went all right for you. I love the sentiment and the badass graphics, mind (Hubby is into D&D, and would approve hugely).

Everything went well and I'm feeling good, @persephonepitstop. I have a genetic condition called Lynch Syndrome which means that the cancer is 'highly likely' to recur, but for now at least I'm all fixed. Thank you for asking! :-)
