Phew... I've been so busy lately. My mom came down from Washington, and my brother from SoCal last Monday. Since then, I've been in the car 25% of the time traveling to see other family.
Went to see my Grandma a few days ago, she's probably the most special person I know. She's so full of energy and so funny, she totally lights up the room. Anyway she's been going through tough times lately: two of her children have died within the last 5 years (my dad and my aunt) and she's supporting and living with my 37 year old cousin who has schizophrenia and continues to use drugs and is really not good for her. We don't get to see her much and she gets very lonely there, and I'm glad we went to see her and that we could cheer her up a little bit.
My other Grandma (on my mom's side) lives in the same city as I do and I've been staying over night there for a while since my brother has been down. At nights there's all these rats and mice running around--it's so creepy. My grandparents and my uncle who lives there didn't even notice them. So for health reasons we had to get rid of them so my mom got these glue traps and rat poisen (one that kills them and one that doesn't). They set the rat poisen right next to the glue traps, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Last night a cute little mouse got caught in the trap and we freed it right outside the house, and it probably made it's way back into the house later that night. With the rat poisen there's probably going to be all these rat and mice carcases lying around (because I know no one is going to go out of there way looking for them) and it's going to be just as worse as though it would have been if they were alive. So basically we don't know what we're doing. Plus, I'm totally against killing animals and I'm totally neurotic about those things and that doesn't help my grandparents at all.
I can relax now and sleep rat free at my house because my brother went back to his base at Oxnard today, so I no longer have to keep him company at my grandma's.
Oh, I finished that horror movie I was working on with my cousin and his friends. It turned out really good considering we only had about 2 days of shooting and 1 day of editting. It's about 15 minutes long.
There's a bunch of other things to tell but I'm too worn out to go over them and I have Wolfenstein to get back to. Hope everyone else's summer is going swell. ciao
