The Fade Away

Last I saw you, you were as bright as a star.
Eyes shone like the sun,
Over taking the shadows I live in.
Crawling back into the depths of darkness,
I can only watch from afar.
Lurking around every corner blinded by your light,
And I'm afraid to look,
Afraid to step into you.
Cover my head in silent darkness,
Avoiding your eyes.
I will crawl around in the shadows you cast,
And follow till the light fades from this place inside.
