My father just got back from a 2 week refresher course at Elmer College in Ottawa. Last night he decided that he was going to take me and beautiful sweetheart out for dinner and a movie to celebrate my b-day that he missed cause he was away at college.
Dinner was awesome! We met my father and my stepmother at Frankie Tomato's, where we stuffed ourselves on tons of italian food.
Afterwards we followed them to the theatre were my father's car got backed into by a minivan! After a short chase to another parking lot my father caught up with the minivan. As the teen that was driving the van and my father were exchanging info, my father makes a point of flashing his badge (being a forensics detective for Metro Toronto) and lectures the kid. What was suprising, the kid didn't seem fazed by my father. Turns out this kids dad is a Metro officer as well! The kid was actually cocky thinking he could pull the "my dad's a cop like you card", when my father realized WHO this kids dad was. This kids dad WAS a metro cop until he got convicted of MURDER!!! The guy is now serving a life sentence in Kingston for murdering his girlfriend.
When my father pointed out he knew the kids dad, the kid got all quite, got all apologetic for hitting my fathers car and offered to pay for the scratch. The whole scene ended with my father deciding to forget the whole thing happened and sent the kid off.
After that sillly little excitement Superman Returns was a nice little dessert to end the day.
