I went to get my ID card updated today and after two hours of waiting the NCOIC comes out and says "Alright, the system is shutting down at 1600. Any one who has lost, or who doesn't have an ID card can stay. Any one who is updating or changing information on an existing card will have to go."

Great. I now have to return tommorrow for more of the same.

There was a family in the chairs next to me; a mother, father, and 3-5 year old boy. The place was packed. This kid couldn't take a step in any direction without bumping into some one, and you know how 5 year olds are. Worried about bumping into something? It's the last thing on their minds. So of course before this kid becomes a pinball in a very hot and impatient machine the dad snatches him up and holds him in his lap. Again, what normal awake 5 year old boy wants to sit in any body's lap? I've never seen such a thing, and this kid was no different. The boy kept bouncing around in his dad's lap. They were sitting right next to me which means every other minute or so a stray and unacounted for hand or foot would come flying at me. Mom and dad were doing what they could, and the kid himself wasn't doing to bad. He wasn't crying or carying on in some annoying way. He just couldn't keep still.

I wasn't angry at them, mildly annoyed sure, but not mad. Goofy kids make me laugh, so I was smiling at his antics and wishing he would nock it off at the same time. I kept thinking that little boy aught to be outside playing on such a beautiful day and not stuck in a crowded room with a buch of stuffy adults.

Hey Joe, what up brother?

It's really kosher of you to be so understanding of the little ones, all to often people are to judgemental where kids and their behavior are concerned. The little peoples are just wired differently than we are, one must practice patience.

Hope life is treating you well.

Peace.
