I rang in the New Year at a new-ish spot in Polish Hill with the nearest and dearest of my friends. (aka my only friends)
Beforehand, Britta, who works for MAC, did our makeup. Normally, if I wear any makeup at all, it's just some liquid eyeliner, or some red lipstick. So it was cool to go all out. And go all out we did.

It was kind of drag queen-ish, but in a good way.
After Britta and Seth took Dana home, the party moved back to our apartment and lasted until about 5am.
Somewhat drunkenly the next morning, Scooter and I decided to go to this super tacky motel we've always talked about going to. It was complete with wood paneling, a heart shaped "jacuzzi" that didn't actually have functioning jets, and mirrors galore. It was HILARIOUS and such a perfect way to kick off the year. The only thing that would have made it better is if we hadn't both been terribly hungover and tired. But whatevs. The dog got to go swimming for the first time, after he fell in the tub:
AND there are plans for an upgrade in the future! There's this hotel nearby that has an amazing Indian buffet that we sometimes go to. My friend just informed me that the same hotel also has rooms with heart shaped hot tubs. Ummmm hello new favorite place!!! and HELLO BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!
My 25th birthday is in a couple weeks, and I think it's going to be a good one. I have the whole weekend off (and I didn't even ask for it!) There's a Lil Kim show. We're going to a hotel that has both an all you can eat Indian buffet and heart-shaped jacuzzis. I'm going to be wearing these shoes:
which were my birthday present from my parents. They came a few days ago and I never want to take them off. Ever. Not to sleep, not to shower, NOTHING!
I've never been one to make resolutions, but I have big plans for 2010, and I think if I keep on top of things, it could mean the realization of some important things for me! Fingers crossed.
