As I got out of my car and headed toward work this afternoon, I noticed a scraggly, scrawny looking cat sitting nearby. I crouched down to see him, and he scuttled back into some bushes. He looked like he hadn't eaten in quite some time, so I decided I'd go get some cat food for him on my lunch break. As I turned the corner, though, I saw that he had taken off down the sidewalk, and that one of his legs was badly, badly broken. It looked like it was detached at the hip. I tried catching him, but to no avail. He couldn't move very well, but he had a head start on me, and was headed toward a busy intersection. I was scared that if I ran toward him, I'd spook him into traffic. I didn't have my phone on me, so I decided to go into work to see if I could get anyone to help me. I was prepared to take a sick day and take him to the animal hospital. Two of my coworkers came back with me, but we couldn't find him anywhere. We went back out on our breaks, but no trace. I'm amazed that such a badly injured animal could find somewhere to hide in such a short period of time and I can only hope that a kind hearted person has found him, and helped him. I can't stop thinking about it
ANYWAY.
How was your Christmas? Mine was pretty good. It was great to get to see my extended family, despite the extreme brevity of my trip. I fucking love those weirdos.
This is an older picture I unearthed of me, my grandma (dad's mom), and my mom:
I'm so touched by all the super thoughtful gifts my friends and family gave me. Seriously. It was surprising and overwhelming and I feel so lucky to have so many amazing people in my life. Highlights: A Rodarte for Target hoodie from El_Scootro's mom; a Karl Lagerfeld print Hellz Bellz t-shirt from Gia; a book about sex in art, a creepy/hilarious collage, and a vintage sequined bodysuit and leopard sweater that bears a striking resemblance to the Opening Ceremony X Chloe Sevigny one that I've been coveting:
from Dana, a box full of antique keys from my aunt because she thought I could create something cool with them; a 24kt gold pinky nail from my boss (seriously, her grandmother gave it to her when she was 8 and she was like "I never wear it and it reminded me of you" Which raises 2 questions: Who gives an 8 year old something like that!? and Why does a coke nail remind you of me!? ...not that I don't think it's totally awesome); a blown up picture that I previously thought had been lost forever:

It's baby me, in Jamaica on my first Christmas, the one and only time I ever sat on Santa's lap. And he's black and wearing stunner shades. (I think I have a pair that look almost exactly like that) EPIC. annnd of course a new Macbook Pro from my parents so I can finally stop using Scooter's and cluttering up his desktop. Fucking amazing. I hope they all liked their gifts even half as much as I liked mine. I'm a lucky lady.
I'm feeling a bit like a buster though. I thought I found this super amazing and very hard to find 10 Deep scarf that Scooter had been wanting forever,
Amazing, right? (Yeah I used a facebook picture of a friend of mine who has the scarf...because I'm a creep haha)
It was gonna be such a great surprise.....and then the dude took my money....a lot of it....and didn't send shit. I'm working it out with PayPal, but really I just wanted to be able to give him that scarf! AND the matching hat. Bummer.
