I hate that I'm 23.5 with a bachelor's degree and I'm a fucking "sales associate." I fold clothes and run a register. I've kind of given up on finding a job in what I majored in but I'd like to do something that was a little more of a "real job." It bums me out when customers at work ask me where I'm going to school. "Um, I graduated last year."
I hate that everyone wants me to do assloads of design work for them but always as a "favor," never for any corresponding monetary compensation. Because, you know, it'll be great to build my portfolio!
I still haven't finished that poster I was talking about before because I'm an asshole. Or am I?
I feel kind of lonely lately. All my friends seem to be drifting away. My best friend contentedly lives at home with her parents in the suburbs and has been dating this guy who also lives out there, so I never see her. Other bff is being weird. Everyone else just seems distant; no one ever wants to do anything anymore.
I let myself get dragged down by theories and questions in my head that may or may not have any basis in reality.
I'm being really depressing today aren't I? I'm sure I'll regret writing this by tomorrow because I'll feel fine.
On a better note, Panda_Eyes and I found a really nice apartment in Polish Hill so we can finally leave the Shit Side. It's about double the size of our current place for the same price, brand new carpet and bathroom and a it has a little deck out front. The neighbors seem pretty cool, it's quiet, close to the busway, and walking distance from all the places I like to go but haven't been able to in the past couple months because I've been stuck on the other side of the river.
New, bigger place in one week? Wow!
