ok im back...
lets see if i can quickly re-cap some of the highlights for yall.
visqueen and alien crime syndicate west coast tour day one...were driving for about an hour maybe an hour and a half and we stop for what would be our first of many (very many) pee breaks. as we get out of the van we notice a strange smell and smoke coming from the trailer. is seems we had lost one of the axel barings and caused about a three hour and over a thousand dollar delay while we had to deal with the logistics of getting the dameged trailer repaired and renting another. the origional plan was to spend the night in sacramento, but with the delay we only made it as far as redding by 2am so we spent our first night there. a great deal of day two was also spent riding in the van as our first show was in la at the three clubs. now everybody was excited to finally get out of the van and finally get a chance to rock, but due to a poor pa and a really horribly placed spot light the show left a lot to be desired. sure there were plenty of celebs in the audience and the bar itself was pretty posh, but appearently the "club's" sound guy went m.i.a. and we all tried our best to get a decent signal out of it. there just didnt seem to be enough juice. as a result vocals sounded as if they were being amplified thru wax paper. and as for the light kim says it was so bright and shining right in her eyes that the only way she could see was to turn her back to the audience and look tward the back of the stage. even ben said he couldnt see anything but silouettes of kim and rachel sometimes blocking the intense beam of blue light. a.c.s. almost decided not to play due to the rediculousness of the situation but "the show must go on" and they gave it their all and played an abbreviated set wich ended up with jeff tangled on the floor with nabil's drums crashing down ontop of him. day three saw us in sandiego's casbah. great club great people lots of fun. after the show kim jeff and i got to ride around in a convertable mustang at rediculous speeds while we ate some really great mexican food from la porta. next we went to korn's hometown of bakersfield. the heat was just stupid and there seemed to be a general overwelming display of testosterone. the girl who worked at jerry's pizza was very nice even though it was evident she had absolutely no desire to be at work on that perticular day. our lancaster show fell threw so we managed to jump last minute onto a show in sacramento. now i could be wrong but i have a feeling that is the first and hopfully last time visqueen plays for a group of skinheads. we managed to charm our way thru it and no one got beat up so i guess it was a sucess. rachel had been pretty sick up to this point so she decided to drown her ailments with the help of her new best friend makers mark, when we played the next night in san jose. we played at a place called the blank club and it was totally rad. i wish seattle had a club like it. huge upstairs back stage area with several couches where you could hang out and watch the bands. the club had thoughtfully installed a pole in the middle of the room but unfortunately none of us were flexible or talented enough to utilze it to its full potentioal. the final show of our short trip was in frisco's bottem of the hill where i got really drunk and other than knowing the bands played i dont really remember too many details of that show.
