So I went to the Secretary of State office (DMV for non-Michiganders) to renew the license plate on my truck and SeaDoo trailer. I plop down a hundred and fifty bucks. After work I go to my parents' house to slap that plate on my trailer so I can take it home. I park the Lightning just outside the garage door that contained my trailer and get out. I hear the sound of a stream of fluid hitting the ground. I smell antifreeze. I get pissed... and worried about my baby. I look underneath, and I notice it's not appearing from the front of the engine. I wanted to pee my pants. Popping the hood, I see no water spewing from the water pump as would have been the best case from what I saw pouring on the ground. After further inspection, it appears that it is coming out somewhere on the side of the block just underneath the exhaust manifold. I am hoping that it is just a freeze plug falling out. I think it is, because the engine still has compression and I'm not blowing water out the exhaust or anything. Anyone have a clue how much getting that done would cost? it appears that they will have to take off the ehxaust manifold at least to get this done.
I just called my dad's Neighbor's garage for a quote, and I'm not quite so upset as I was. It appears I'm looking at about a hundred bucks for the labor to have his boys fix it up. Not too shabby.
