Well, I started updating many days ago, but I got pulled away. So here is my update (and I am trying the submission via e-mail method.)

So I was sitting in front of my computer playing my favourite guitar last night, and I pulled up the chords for Just What I Needed by The Cars, probably my very favourite pop rock song, and one I had never tried to play.

I have never been able to sing and play at the same time, apart from a week ago when I was playing, and I busted out with Cranberries - Zombie. To my own surprise, I just busted out singing it pretty much in time along with my playing. My voice was well trained ten years ago, but it has since been retired to the occasional crooning along with my favourite CDs ripped to mp3.
...........and true to form, I digress.

Now, back to where I was we shall go, sitting at the computer playing the 1972 Ovation Folklore. I'm in the living room, jamming away in my own little world, when I vaguely notice Shanna (my gf's sister, who lives with us,) and David (her bf) have come back from the store. I start playing said Cars tune. I make sure I have all the chords memorized by playing the song from the beginning through the chorus. I stop, and sorta notice persons sitting down at the couch. I'm not really paying attention to them, so I start to play through again, but this time I started singing. Note that I have awful stage fright, for I am a generally shy person, and I feel that I totally suck, but do it anyway because it is a good thing to get my brain far removed from anything to do with my career. I'm lost in the music, but I manage to overhear David saying an impressed tone in his voice something like "He can sing." This surprised me, and almost distracted me from what I was doing. Shanna later told me that I should keep practicing the singing and playing. Her comment sounds more like the constructive criticism I would expect, as opposed to the all-out compliment. I don't really think I can sing or play, but David's compliment still makes me feel good... and nervous. I had an audience!
