a business acquaintance of my wife named Iris Chang was found dead of apparently suicide. she wrote about the japanese occupation and slaughter of china during world war 2 in a book called The Rape Of Nanking.
the reports are that she was clinically depressed, so she shot herself in the head. that is one way of dealing with it, i suppose. i'm not being flip, as i have plenty of first hand experience with suicide.
it's not that she knew her very well, but it's shocking to find that someone you've spoken with and done business with has killed themselves.
