what happens when we die?

i'm getting older. not ancient, but closer to death than birth.

i had a dream last night that my cat, jack, and i both died. we were shuttled off to wherever it is we were supposed to go next. it happened to be under a bed somewhere. we were both still in our same physical forms. i asked jack when christina, my wife, would be there. he told me she'd be around in five or ten minutes. i was excited to see her. however, i knew this was about sixty years for her, and i felt both sad and amused at how arbitrary time can be, depending on which world we are in. i wanted to tell her that she would be with us soon, but sixty years, to humans, is a long time. in the eye of existence, it's nothing. just a blink.

i've no idea what happens when i die. only those that have died do. i'm not scared, per se. i have accepted that i will die. we all will. i just wonder alot more these days as to where i'll end up.
