So, my brother took me down to the union hall today to try to get me some work. We had plans to go on tuesday, but we were both sick. We make it down there, I've got everything ready, and unfortunately they're not accepting new applicants on Thursdays or Fridays.
He still has to pick up his paycheck, and that's where we need to go on Monday to get the ball rolling anyway so I head down with him. We start talking to the woman and getting the information we need, and she's very politely and very firmly stating that I should bring my resume, and that it should be clean, clear, typed, etc. At this point Jacob is nicely trying to say that I have a lot of experience doing this, when in walks a friend who worked the show in Anaheim. So I proceed to give him a hug as Jacob's finishing up saying "...experience." and turns around to gesture to me hugging another union member.
Gotta love the random luck that leads me to randomly see a guy I know when looking for work, and not looking like a total n00b.

LOL!, .... you've got to hand it to Carol ( the lady at reception desk) ... she has to deal with a lot of new people all the time. We had a slow start ourselves, until we started running into friends we knew as well, who gave us the direction we needed... jumping through the hoops. Now we are recognized by a lot of Members, as we aren't new to this, just new to you. Make sure you get a blue card...
