How are we all doing?!?
I haven't exactly been on this site religiously lately. I've been busy with a plethora of activities. What with the summer school, the band, the girlfriend, the pot. Sheesh. I know, it's shocking. Somewhere in the past few months I acquired a life. So much for the days of sitting on my fat ass in front of the computer reading about the banal minutia that dominates the lives of famous people. It all seems a lot more trivial and pointless when I actually take time to get off my ass and do stuff. I mean, honestly, who really gives a fuck about Paris Hilton and her jail time? She's a spoiled little slut that drinks in excess and does enough blow to be the envy of an 80's Wall Street exec. Take a walk onto ASU's main campus. Just walking around for an hour you'll spot at least 100 girls just like her. She does nothing but fuck random dudes and humiliate her family. And now she's in jail. ZOMG NO WAI!
Anyway, life is pleasant. I feel like I am starting to be filled with purpose again. Namely thanks to the band. It's been over 2 years, but I finally recaptured that creative outlet I was missing when I left my last band. We're writing some pretty fucking cool tunes, and working our asses off to make it sound just the way we like it. Our singer Danny is some kind of psychotic genius. The shit that comes out of his mouth sometimes is utterly jaw dropping. I'm lucky to have him at the helm for writing music. Danny, Kyle our bassist and myself all mesh really well in this thing. We're all at about the same kind of skill level, and we can all keep up with each other. We have these moments in practice where we go on these 15 to 20 minute long improv jams. We can make shit up on the fly the entire time without boring one another. I guess the next step is trying to remember all the separate riffs and pieces of these improv jams and trying to implement them into structured songs. However, part of me thinks that would take away from the pure, raw feeling of our jam sessions. Whatever. The bottom line is, we're all very proud of the work we've done, and are constantly working to push ourselves further.
Well, that's all I have to report, I guess. I'll see you all in another month or two when I feel inclined to update again.
