I am unskilled, adored.
All of both and none of one.
I would kill for more.
I haven't killed before.
I could set this heart on stun.
Take me to the pretty ones.
I want to be original.
Sign me to a nice girl so I can sing her something
meaningful.
In my perfect world I'd be signed to a...

Don't concern yourself with my slow dying.
Through the vents I hear you sigh.
I don't get too high these days.
Your floor is my ceiling.
Lights out, you can't come in.
If you don't remind me, I won't forget you.
If you don't ask, I won't upset you.
I am jet black.
Thank yous to everyone who...

Ive never really had a large family. Essentially just my mom, dad, and brother. Ive never known my grandparents on my fathers side. And both grandparents...

Untitled #73 (resemblance) is from a body of work titled resemblance, which she undertook in the spring of 2001 while an artist-in-residence at the Addison Gallery in Andover, Massachusetts. This series was inspired by such literary sources as The Sandman by E.T.A. Hoffmann, Tomorrows Eve by Villiers de lIsle Adam, and Mary Shelleys Frankenstein, and in it, Gaskell deals with the notion of creating an artificial person. She dressed female students from Phillips Academy in Andover in white lab coats and cast them as young technicians undertaking this bizarre experiment. But unlike the protagonists in the literature that inspired her, the girls in Gaskells photographs are attempting to use their hands to build their creator, an artificial "mother." The pictures in the series suggest a disquieting narrative that is ambiguous, non-linear, and open to complex interpretations ranging from ethical debates about biotechnology and cloning to feminist issues of gaining control over ones body and self-image. In this photograph, although the "creation" is about to be unveiled, it will undoubtedly leave the viewer with more questions than answers.
Her photographs are so beautiful and spooky--I'm totally in love with her.

I told myself to keep myself in line.
Should we get married or just go on killing each other?
I don't think I hate you enough to commit you to me.
Happy all the time. It's all we ever do.
Steady in decline. It's all we ever do.
I'm sorry but it's true.
How can I...

I was drooling over your photographs in Alyk's apartment last night.

They find it all, a different story,
Notice whom for wheels are turning,
Turn again and turn towards this time,
All she asks the strength to hold me,
Then again the same old story,
World will travel, oh so quickly,
Travel first and lean towards this time.
Oh, Ill break them down, no mercy shown,
Heaven knows, its got...
