For the first time in 11 years, my birthday wasn't spent in a dark and lonely place. PunkNiteMike and KatieOkieDokie made sure my birthday was a good one. It had it's ups and downs all day, but mostly ups. It started out with me waking up to cool off, I sweat my ass off at night, and my dad getting home from work. He proceeds to run down to the gas station at 8 in the morning to pick up a 6 pack of beer for us to share. We kill those beers, and then it's time for me to get ready for a doctors appointment. I truly hate having to go to the doctor anyway. When I get home, I let Mike know that I'm back and he and Katie come get me shortly thereafter. We go to one of my favorite local restaurants, followed by a trip to the Halloween store, where Katie found her long lost family, evidence to follow. We then went to Hot Topic to pick up the new Metallica cd for cheap. From there the night jumped to a new level of awesomeness!!! We went to meet up with Pammy who had organized and was running the Gypsy Queens booth at a bike and tattoo show. The number of booths and bikes was actually depressing, there were so few. As we're walking through however, lo and behold one of the first people to say anything to me is none other than legendary tattoo artist Lyle Tuttle!!!! I realize that not everyone is as into tattoo or body modification history as much as me, but for those who are, you know what it's like to meet a living legend. It was like meeting Fakir Musafar or Paul Booth for me. Lyle Tuttle is a God in the industry. Eventually I got the nerve that I wanted to try to get a picture taken with him, but alas he was nowhere to be found. As we were walking out to leave, there he was standing near a bench. Thanks to Pammy, I was able to get a picture with him before we left. I don't think anything could have made this day any better, (aside from being able to have some.....wine).
