I made it to Detroit and back. Well, actually it was Warren, but it may as well be Detroit. We raised a lot of money, and I wish I had had more to spend, cosidering how cheap some of the items went for on the silent auction. I'll say this much, a pass for Dimebag Darrell's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame went for more than a signed Hellyeah guitar!!! The pass went for $350, and the guitar signed by his brother and the rest of Hellyeah only went for $250. In all though, we raised over $6000 in one day.

One thing I noticed as well, is that Detroit has a lot better scene than we do around here. All day long, people were coming to support their local music scene. From kids to adults, they kept Ritz was busy and packed. The music was a lot better than we have here as well, as much as I hate to say it. There were metal bands of all types playing, and a few of them I absolutely fell in love with their music. One band in particular, Hell Rides North, really blew me away. As I get older, the death metal sound isn't as appealing to me as it was say 5 years ago, but they are one band that I thoroughly enjoyed. I even got up on stage at one point with them when they did a cover of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite musicians, Glen Danzig. That's right, I was on stage with them when they did a cover of Mother.
