It's been a year now, and I felt as if I should updat the poem I wrote last year in "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's honor. I hope that those who read it enjoy it, and remember him for the guitarist that he was.
A Lost Dimebag
I wish you were here
On this date
I'd buy you a beer
To rid me of my hate
To rid myself of this habit
To no longer feel so sad
You are missed Mr. Abbott
Or should I call you Dimebag
You were but a tool
Held near my heart
I was such a fool
Then my world was torn apart
You would have gone far
Perhaps become a god
Coming to own a bar
Not a lazy sod
A modern day cowboy
Possessing great power
Driven to be coy
A trendkill or tower
Proof of life
An unworthy death
A beautiful wife
And words left unsaid
It could have been a pillow
I wish it were a gag
At the Alrosa Villa
Many lost their Dimebag
A Lost Dimebag
I wish you were here
On this date
I'd buy you a beer
To rid me of my hate
To rid myself of this habit
To no longer feel so sad
You are missed Mr. Abbott
Or should I call you Dimebag
You were but a tool
Held near my heart
I was such a fool
Then my world was torn apart
You would have gone far
Perhaps become a god
Coming to own a bar
Not a lazy sod
A modern day cowboy
Possessing great power
Driven to be coy
A trendkill or tower
Proof of life
An unworthy death
A beautiful wife
And words left unsaid
It could have been a pillow
I wish it were a gag
At the Alrosa Villa
Many lost their Dimebag
