If the hotels do cooperate, it will get on the news, and then, the internet. So people researching hotels in Dallas will say "I am not going to the Ritz, there is prostitution there." Other people will say "I am not going to the Ritz if there is going to be a problem with having some company over." Either way, rooms are empty, and less room service is being ordered. There appears to be a tacit acceptance of the hobby in Dallas. The providers are good about coming in through the side doors, wearing suits, and going straight to the client's room without causing any trouble.
In Jersey, I do not understand the problem. If you dress nicely, how do they know that you are not visiting an old friend? If they do not see you all the time, how would they even recognize you? I could see a problem is you were in a hotel for a week while touring and getting a lot of business, other than that, I do not see the problem. Must be one of those provider/client disconnects.
